Not Jobs. Careers.

"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no “brief candle” for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

George Bernard Shaw

Our Core Values

These are more than just catchy slogans. Our values are words we live by. They permeate everything we do as a company.

Core Value:
Do the right thing.

The right thing might not be easy, it might not be cheap, and it might not be in the contract, but it’s what is needed. It might be a hard conversation about a business model that doesn’t work or realizing that we have to start over to get it right. We’ve got stories; some are too hard to tell, and some are the basis of 12-year client relationships. Yet in every case, doing the right thing is something we decide every morning at 9am when we open our doors. It continues all day, every day. It’s who we are.

Core Value:
Be responsive.

We build relationships with the best B2B technology companies – but the truth is that you can’t trust a relationship if you can’t trust you’ll get a response when you need one. When you work with us, you’ll have that trust. We never leave our clients hanging and we’re always there to answer crucial questions, for you or your team. We’ve promised to be there every step of the way, from vision to destination. That’s just how we do it. Email, texts, calls, whatever – we’re with you to make it happen. We’re there when you need us.

Core Value:
Remain teachable.

We know a lot, but we don’t know it all – sorry. We’ve learned early on that working with our clients is a partnership. Our experience and our ongoing learning are all focused on bringing more to the table each time we work with a client. Every day, every meeting, every campaign, we strive to build on our momentum for success. Our clients are brilliant in their own right, and when we work with clients who know their stuff, the combination can set the world on fire. We strive to never get ahead of ourselves, knowing that there is something new to learn around every corner.

Core Value:
Work passionately.

Nothing great has ever been accomplished by people who don’t care. Impacts are made by people doing what they love – and we love what we do. We believe helping businesses grow through marketing matters, and we want to do it as well as we possibly can. Yet we also strive to maintain a healthy perspective on our work: to make sure it remains a purpose-driven love and doesn’t become an unhealthy burden. We believe in the value of rest; we also believe that passion makes hard work easy. It’s what drives us to share ideas, solve problems, and create results. And it just might set the world on fire.

Core Value:
Make it a "9."

Winston Churchill once said, "Perfection is the enemy of progress." This value is our commitment to progress toward excellence. It’s also a reminder that chasing some subjective perspective of perfection leads to failure. To make work a “9”, we have to define the goal of each piece of work. Only then can we create something that’s as good as it can possibly be. We’re committed to providing the most value for our clients rather than deliberating on degrees of subjective perfection. We’re committed to avoiding waste. Most of all, we’re committed to getting the right results – again and again.

Content Strategist

You’ve always been a bit different – in a good way.

You tell jokes to yourself based on bad ads. You critique advertising to whoever is with you and puns… well, good puns are rare, and most are just lazy.

You’ve been working in the agency field for many years and you’re feeling the itch to do bigger things.

Your ideas are good, award-winning in fact.

You’re experienced enough to know how to get things done, yet still love the craft like a beginner.  The pitch is your performance, and your work is the mic drop.

You love being a part of a team, and you’re a natural at helping those around you achieve your vision.

Clients desire to have you on their account because frankly, you get it.

We are looking for someone to blow the doors off our creative work.

We’ve been working a building an effective marketing firm for over 13 years and now we need to “level up” our creative to capture bigger clients. We are talking to international brands in the B2B tech space that will make this agency nationally known if we can win them.

We offer competitive compensation, benefits, etc, but we know that’s not the top concern for you.

If this sounds like you, we should meet.

  • proving to unbelievers that the creative side of marketing isn’t “fluff”, it leads to demonstrable results.
  • pitching new ideas and winning the account with the marriage of creative and data.
  • working alongside designers (or designing yourself) digital assets that prospects can’t ignore.
  • writing great messaging that provokes action and response.
  • collaborating with like-minded marketing craftsmen and craftswomen to create work.
  • proving that the key to a good creative is the message mix of verbal and visual.

  • You received a BA/BS in something like English, Marketing, Advertising, Liberal Arts, etc.
  • You have worked for 3+ years in a senior role (content strategist, creative director, or similar creative role), in a B2B context, ideally.
  • You have a solid portfolio of content with clients that demonstrate your experience.
  • You can tie your work back to campaigns that generated bottom-line results.
  • You have done creative for several different segments of the technology industry (hardware, SaaS, consulting, etc.)
  • You have won awards for your work, but you also realize that award-winning-work is often more pretty than practical (and that irks you)

9 am – Arrive at the office in beautiful downtown Frederick, grab a cup of fresh roasted coffee, and have a laugh or two with the team.

10 am – Have our daily all-hands meeting with the team. Great work is accomplished through collaboration.

11 am – You pitch a few new messaging concepts to a new client (which they loved). Afterward, you and the team bounce additional ideas off each other, and you can’t wait to get started.

12 pm – Lunch outside on our porch where you get to know others on the team a bit more

1 pm – You sit with the SEM specialist and write a few new text ad variations. You leave confident that they will really engage with the client’s audience and can’t wait to see the results.

2 pm – You jump on a call to talk through a whitepaper that a contractor is working on. You walk through the outline you had put together previously to guide the messaging flow.

3 pm – You sit down to write the content for the homepage of a new website we are building. You come up with a brilliant one-liner to pull visitors in.

4 pm – The whole team comes together, and we have our weekly meeting. We talk big picture, review client feedback, and work through a few issues that popped up throughout the week.

5:30 pm – You wrap up some loose ends on an article you were working on and head home after what seemed like a fast and productive day.

But every day is not the same. Other days include writing newsletters, big pitches, or deep thinking and brainstorming. Your day is all about driving the quality of our creative product to a new level.

  • A $70,000 to $120,000 salary. The more experience you have, the closer you will be to the upper-end.
  • Health, Dental, and Vision.
  • Flexible schedules that account for being a human being.
  • An annual profit-sharing plan.
  • Cool creative office space located in downtown Frederick MD.
  • A team that is on a mission and loves to work.
  • A chance to be part of something big.
